Adjusting the position of the selector switch and gearbox control cable (Mitsubishi Space Star)

1. Set the selector lever to position N.

2. On the gearbox side, loosen the nut securing the cable to the control lever to release the cable and control lever (Fig. 13.17).

3. Set the selector lever to neutral position.

4. Loosen the gear selector switch housing mounting bolts, then turn the gear selector switch housing so that the hole in the end of the control lever and the hole in the switch housing flange are aligned (Fig. 13.18).

5. Tighten the gear selector switch housing mounting bolts to the specified torque. Be careful not to displace the switch housing when tightening the bolts.



Tightening torque: 11 Nm

6. Gently press the gearbox control cable in the direction of the arrow and tighten the adjusting nut (Fig. 13.19).

7. Make sure the selector lever is in position N.

8. Check the operation and functioning of the switch for each selector lever position.
