Removal


  • Drain the fluid from the clutch hydraulic drive.
  • On a left-hand drive vehicle, remove the relay box and activated carbon canister.
  • Remove the cotter pin, washer and pin securing the clutch cylinder pushrod to the clutch pedal (Fig. 11.9).

  • Loosen the union nut and disconnect the pipe from the clutch master cylinder.
  • Loosen the nuts and remove the clutch master cylinder.
  • Loosen the union nut and disconnect the tube from the clutch slave cylinder.
  • Remove the bolts and the clutch slave cylinder.
  • Remove the clamps and remove the clutch hydraulic hose.

Installation


  • Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
  • Before installation, lubricate the bushing, washer and pin.
  • When installing, use a new cotter pin to secure the pin.
  • Before installation, lubricate the clutch slave cylinder push rod with MITSUBISHI Part # 0101011 grease (Fig. 11.10).

  • Fill the fluid and bleed the air from the hydraulic clutch drive.
  • Adjust the position of the clutch pedal.
