Note: Always check the filter element for cleanliness when removing it.
2. Mark and disconnect any wires or hoses that interfere with removal of the air filter.
3. Unscrew the nuts and bolts securing the air filter (see illustrations).
8.3a. Position of the mounting bolts (arrows) of the air filter on carburetor engines. Do not forget to unscrew the wing nut, and also mark and disconnect the hoses and wires that interfere with dismantling
8.3b. Using a ratchet, socket wrench and a long enough extension, remove the air cleaner mounting bolts (fuel injected engines)
4. Remove the air filter.
5. Perform installation in reverse order.
