Removal



1. The location and installation details of the ABS ECU assembly are shown in the illustrations.

2. Turn off the ignition.

Attention! The ignition must remain off during the entire procedure.


3. On Galant and Diamante models, remove the left side luggage compartment trim panel.

4. On Mirage models, remove the floor section of the center console.

5. Release the lock at the bottom of the multi-pin connector and disconnect the electrical wiring from the ABS control unit (ECU).



6. Loosen the mounting nuts and remove the ECU from its support bracket. If necessary, the bracket can also be removed.

Installation



1. If removed, reinstall the control unit support bracket.

2. Install the control unit and tighten its mounting nuts securely.

3. If removed, connect the ground bus to the bracket - grounding must be restored before connecting the wiring to the ECU. Make sure the contact terminal is securely fixed.

4. Connect the multi-pin electrical connector to the control unit - make sure the lock is securely latched.

5. Install the luggage compartment trim panel/center console floor section.
