Removing
Switch off the ignition.
Remove the distributor cap and set aside. To do this, use a screwdriver to fold the two retaining brackets on the side of the distributor from the cover.
Remove the slider from the distributor shaft by hand and, if available, remove the boot.
Attention: Do not allow fasteners to fall into the distributor, otherwise you will have to remove the distributor to remove the fallen part.
Turn the crankshaft until the cam on the axis of the ignition distributor opens the breaker contact as much as possible. Turning the crankshaft see point 1.6.
Loosen the fixing screws.
Disconnect the low voltage wires and remove the breaker contact.
Installation
Insert the breaker contact and screw in the fixing screws, do not tighten the screw -2-.
Connect wires.
Apply a very thin layer of distributor grease to the cam surface and plastic slider. Grease is normally supplied with the contact set supplied, otherwise use BOSCH distributor grease.
Caution: Carefully remove grease from the contact surfaces, otherwise the engine will not be able to start. You can use absorbent paper to remove.
Adjust contact gap (or closing angle) and tighten the fixing screws.
If available, install the boot.
Put on the distributor slider. With slight turns in both directions, check whether it has jumped onto the distributor axle.
Put on the cover of the ignition distributor, while the nose of the cover should enter the recess at the edge of the distributor, put on the retaining brackets.
