The starter should not rotate the engine for longer than 15 seconds.
To avoid draining the battery, wait a few seconds before trying to start the engine again.
Caution: Do not allow the vehicle engine to run for long periods of time in a closed or poorly ventilated area. Carbon dioxide is odorless and can cause suffocation.
Starting the engine

2. On manual transmission models, place the transmission in neutral; on automatic transmission models, place the transmission in park.
3. Press the brake pedal (on models with manual transmission). On models with a manual transmission, the starter will not engage unless the clutch pedal is depressed.
4. After turning the ignition key to the ON position, check that all indicator lights are working before starting the engine.
5. Turn the ignition key to the START position and release it when the engine starts.
When you start the engine, you may hear clicking sounds. This is normal, continue to warm up the engine and the clicking noise will stop.
If too much fuel has entered the engine and it does not start, turn the engine with the starter for 5-6 seconds while keeping the accelerator pedal depressed. Then start the engine without pressing the starter pedal at all.
Starting the engine in cold weather
If the engine does not start, press the accelerator pedal halfway while turning the engine with the starter.
After the engine starts, release the accelerator pedal.
