Hood locks and hinges

The spring, spring anchor and bonnet hinges are lubricated with engine oil.

The lock drum is lubricated with graphite grease using a key.

Door hinges

All hinges are lubricated with engine oil.

Lubrication of front wheel bearings (rear wheel drive cars)

Front wheel hub

1. Support; 2, 9. Cap; 3. Lubricate with 3M ATD sealant; 4. Hub assembly; 5. Outer bearing; 6. Washer; 7. Nut; 8. Cotter pin

1. Remove the hub and brake disc, remove the disc from the hub (see subsection 11.12.3).

2. Remove the oil seal and inner bearing. If the bearings are in good condition, they can continue to be used. Replace worn bearings by knocking the bearing rings out of the hub with a brass punch.

3. Bearing rings are pressed in using special mandrels or devices until they rest against the flange of the hub cavity.

4. Apply grease to the bearings and hub cavity.

5. Using a mandrel, press the seal so that its surface is flush with the end of the hub.

6. Install all parts in reverse order.

The lubricant is replaced after 2 years or 48,000 km.

When replacing the lubricant, it is prohibited to wash the bearings in gasoline or blow them with compressed air. Only weak solvents may be used.

Lifting a car with a jack

Places for installing a jack under a car

1. Place the car on a level surface, block the wheels and apply the handbrake.

2. Place a jack under one of the indicated locations and lift the vehicle.
