Removal



To remove the fuel tank filler cap, perform the following steps.

1. Remove the front seat.

2. Remove the driver's side lower B-pillar trim, front kick panel, rear kick panel, rear kick panel trim and left rear side trim.

3. Unscrew two bolts 4 (Fig. 17.5) and remove the fuel tank filler cap 2 as an assembly.

4. Remove the latch 3 of the fuel tank filler flap assembly.

5. Unscrew the bolts and remove the handle 1 of the fuel tank filler flap drive.

6. Disconnect the cable from the drive lever and the fuel filler flap and remove the cable 5 of the flap lock drive.

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.

1. Lubricate the moving parts of the fuel filler door latch and install the latch.

2. Install the fuel tank filler cap assembly and secure with bolts, but do not tighten them completely.

3. Close the hatch and check its position relative to the adjacent surfaces. Adjust the position of the hatch so that when the hatch is closed, the gap around the perimeter is the same on all sides. To adjust, loosen the hatch mounting bolts and, moving the hatch, adjust its position (Fig. 17.6).

4. Install the rear left side trim; on the driver's side - rear trim panel, rear protective panel, front protective panel and lower center pillar trim.

5. Install the front seat.
