Examination



1. Attach the special tool to the drive belt.

2. Pass the ring gasket of the measuring tool under the graduated scale.

3. Install the special measuring tool and apply force to it as shown in Fig. 4.1.

4. This position can be determined using the thumb, as the plunger should be flush with the surface of the measuring instrument.

5. Carefully remove the measuring tool and record the drive belt deflection.

Sag corresponding to a given (required) tension:
  • when tested - 3.5 mm;
  • used belt - 3.0 mm;
  • new belt – 2.0–3.0 mm.

Adjustment



1. If the tension does not correspond to the nominal value, loosen the generator mounting bolts and nuts A and C (Fig. 4.2) and, by turning the adjusting nut B, adjust the belt tension.

2. Tighten the generator mounting bolt and nut.
