Checking and adjusting the increased engine crankshaft speed at idle during warm-up (Mitsubishi Carisma)

1. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the idle speed control actuator.

2. Connect a hand vacuum pump to the idle speed increase system nipple (Fig. 4.10).

3. Connect the MUT-II device to the diagnostic connector.

4. Start the engine and let it idle.

5. Check the idle speed and adjust it if necessary.

6. Stop the engine.

7. Adjust the gap between the pump control cable clamp and the idle speed lever, which should be (2±1) mm (Fig. 4.11).

8. Start the engine and check the rotation speed when applying a vacuum (at least 27 kPa) to the engine idle speed increase system drive using a hand vacuum pump, which should be (900±50) min⁻¹.

Attention! The valve for increasing the engine crankshaft speed at idle speed during engine warm-up is adjusted only on a special stand for testing and adjusting high-pressure fuel pumps.
