Removing
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery.
2. Drain the coolant from the engine cooling system.
3. Remove the timing belt.
4. Using a special tool, fix the camshaft pulley from turning, unscrew the bolt and remove the camshaft pulley.

5. Turn out bolts and remove the top back casing 2 (pic. 4.17) timing belt drive.
6. Remove an epiploon 3 of a camshaft.
7. Unscrew nuts and remove a cover 10 of a head of the block of cylinders.
8. Loosen the clamp and remove the upper hose 18 of the radiator.
9. Turn away bolts and remove an inlet branch pipe of the cooling system 20.
10. Turn away bolts and remove the vacuum pump 16 and a lining 15.
11. Turn out bolts in some stages and remove consistently covers of bearings 5–9 a camshaft.
12. Remove the camshaft 14.
13. Remove key 4 from the camshaft.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
1. Apply a coat of engine oil to the bearing journals and camshaft lobes.
2. Lay a camshaft in basic surfaces of a head of the block of cylinders.

3. Before installing the front and rear camshaft bearing caps, apply a thin layer of Mitsubishi Genuine Part MD970389 sealant or similar to the mating surfaces of the caps (pic. 4.18).
4. Apply a thin layer of engine oil to the seal lip.
5. Wipe the seating surface of the camshaft oil seal.
6. Install the oil seal on the camshaft.
7. Fit the oil seal in place using the special tool.
8. Fill in cooling liquid in the engine cooling system.
9. Install the timing belt.
