Checking the front wheel hub play (Mitsubishi Space Star)

1. Remove the front disc brake caliper and, without disconnecting the brake hose from the caliper, tie it to the front suspension with soft wire, without stretching or twisting the brake hose.

2. Remove the brake disc from the hub.

3. Fix the measuring stand with the pointer-type indicator as shown in Figure 14.5 and, moving the hub back and forth, measure its axial play.



Maximum permissible axial play of the front wheel hub: 0.05 mm

4. If the axial play exceeds the maximum permissible value, remove and check the front suspension components.
