Trauma-safe mechanism of the electric hatch drive

If a hand or head is caught in the closing hatch, it will open automatically. However, when the hatch is closing, make sure that no one sticks their head or hands out.

The electric drive of the automatically opened hatch (after the hatch's safety mechanism has been triggered) can be controlled after a few seconds

Warning: The safety mechanism disengages just before the hatch closes completely, allowing the hatch to close tightly. Therefore, be especially careful not to get your fingers caught in the hatch.

Sun protection curtain

The sun protection curtain 5 can be opened and closed manually.

Note: When the sunroof is opened, the sunshade opens automatically, but does not close with the sunroof.

Warning: Do not attempt to close the sunshade when the sunroof is open.

To reduce wind noise

To reduce wind noise, open the sunroof slightly, as wind noise will be significant when the sunroof is fully open.

Warning
  • (1) Do not allow anyone to stand up or extend any part of their body out of the open hatch while the hatch is being moved.
  • (2) After parking the vehicle for a long time, close the sunroof and remove the key from the ignition switch.
  • (3) Do not allow children to operate the sunroof. Closing the sunroof may cause serious injury in some cases.
  • (4) Before operating the hatch, make sure that it will not pinch any body parts or objects.
  • (5) After washing the car and before opening the current, remove moisture from it.
  • (6) Before opening the hatch, remove any moisture, snow, ice or sand from it.
  • (7) Do not place heavy objects on or near the manhole cover.
  • (8) After the sunroof is fully opened or closed, immediately release the sunroof control button.

Emergency hatch drive

If the electric sunroof drive is faulty and the sunroof does not move, it can be opened or closed in the following way.

1. Take the special hatch key from the tool bag.

2. Insert a special key into the hole of the interior light and carefully pry it off.

3. Insert special key 1 into hole 2 of the sunroof drive motor shaft and close the sunroof by turning the key counterclockwise.

Note: Overtightening the special key may cause the sunroof to rise. If the sunroof has risen, lower it by turning the key clockwise. Have the sunroof checked by a MITSUBISHI dealer as soon as possible.
