Checking the accelerator pedal position sensor (2nd channel) (Mitsubishi Space Star)

1. Disconnect the connector from the accelerator pedal position sensor (see fig. 8.7).

2. Measure the resistance between contacts 2 and 6 of the sensor connector (Fig. 8.9)



Resistance: 1200 Ohm

3. Measure the resistance between pins 1 and 6 of the sensor connector.

Normal condition

Press the accelerator pedal slowly.

The resistance changes smoothly in proportion to the pressure on the accelerator pedal.

4. If the resistance differs from the required value or does not change smoothly, replace the accelerator pedal position sensor. After replacement, adjust the position of the accelerator pedal sensor.
