Checking the coolant temperature sensor (Mitsubishi Space Star)

1. Drain the coolant, disconnect the connector from the coolant temperature sensor and unscrew it (Fig. 8.6).



2. By heating the sensor in a vessel with water, measure the resistance between contacts 2 and 3 of the sensor connector.

Nominal resistance, kOhm;

• at a temperature of 20°C: 2.14-2.36
• at a temperature of 80°C: 0.27-0.29

3. If the sensor resistance does not decrease when heated, replace it.
