Checking the engine air temperature sensor (Mitsubishi Space Star)

1. Disconnect the connector from the air flow meter (Fig. 8.5).

2. Measure the resistance of the engine air temperature sensor between contacts 1 and 2 of the connector.

Resistance, kOhm:

at a temperature of -30°C: 24.0-27.2

at a temperature of 20°C: 2.35-2.55

at 100°C: 0.18-186

3. If the resistance of the sensor does not decrease when it is heated, replace the sensor.
