16.2a On some models, remove the screws securing the horn panel to the steering column (Galant model shown)
16.2b Lift the bottom edge of the horn panel, then remove it
2. Remove the horn panel from the steering wheel. On some models, the panel is secured with screws (16.2a and 16.2b).
16.3 After unscrewing the steering wheel mounting nut, make alignment marks on the steering column shaft and steering wheel hub
3. Unscrew the steering wheel mounting nut and mark the installation position of the wheel on the shaft (16.3).
16.4 Use a special puller to remove the steering wheel from the steering column shaft - do not hit the shaft when trying to remove the steering wheel
4. Using a steering wheel puller, remove the steering wheel (16.4).

5. When installing the wheel, align the marks on the wheel and shaft. Install the mounting nut and tighten it to the required tightening torque.
6. Install the horn panel.
7. Connect the negative battery terminal wire.
