17.2b Make alignment notches on the intermediate shaft and steering column shaft, and on the lower end of the intermediate shaft and steering gear input shaft (Precis model shown)
2. Make alignment marks on the universal joint, steering column shaft, lower universal joint and steering input shaft (17.2a and 17.2b).
3. Loosen the upper and lower universal joint clamp tie bolts.

17.4 The dust cover is secured to the bulkhead using three bolts (Precis model shown)
4. Unscrew the dust cover bolts (17.4) and remove it.
5. Disconnect the intermediate shaft from the steering gear shaft. Disconnect the intermediate shaft from the steering column shaft and remove it from the vehicle.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Align the installation marks and tighten the tie bolts to the required tightening torque.
