Contents: Primary operations ⤓ Secondary operations ⤓
Engine performance may deteriorate if routine maintenance has been neglected. In this case, the following operations should be performed:
Primary operations
- a) Clean and check the battery.
- b) Check the level and condition of oil and coolant.
- c) Check the condition and tension of the drive belts
- d) Replace the spark plugs.
- d) Check the distributor cap and rotor
- e) Check the high voltage wires
- g) Check and adjust idle speed.
- c) Check the crankcase ventilation valve, i) Check the air filter.
- k) Check the cooling system.
- l) Check the condition of all hoses in the engine compartment.
If these operations do not improve engine performance, perform the following secondary operations.
Secondary operations
- a) Check the exhaust gas recirculation system
- b) Check the ignition system
- c) Check the battery charging system
- d) Check the power supply system
- d) Replace the air filter
- e) Replace the distributor cap and rotor
- g) Replace the high voltage wires
