While service intervals are based on the manufacturer's recommendations, most can be shortened to keep your vehicle in peak condition.
Every 400 km or weekly
- Check the engine oil level. Check the coolant level. Check the windshield washer fluid level
- Check the electrolyte level in the battery. Check the brake fluid level. Check the condition of the tires and the tire pressure
Every 5,000 km or after 3 months
- All checks listed above plus
- Check the hydraulic fluid level of the power steering system
- Check the automatic transmission fluid level
- Replace engine oil and oil filter
Every 10,000 km or after 6 months
- Check/replace windshield wiper blades
- Check/adjust clutch pedal free play
- Check the battery
- Check/adjust drive belt tension
- Check/replace hoses in engine compartment
- Check the cooling system
- Rotate the wheels
Every 25,000 km or after 12 months
- All checks listed above plus
- Check the brakes
- Check/replace air filter and PCV filter.
- Check the throttle position sensor (1986 and earlier Mirage models, and 1989 and earlier Precis models with 1.5L carbureted engines)
- Check/adjust valve clearances
- Check/Adjust Idle Speed - Carbureted Models Only
- Check the power supply system
- Check steering and suspension components
- Check the axle shaft covers
- Check the exhaust system
- Check the transmission fluid level on manual transmission models
Every 50,000 km or after 24 months
- Replace the fuel filter
- Check/replace spark plugs
- Check/replace high tension wires, distributor cap and rotor
- Check the air damper and clean the connecting mechanism
- Check the air filter
- Replace drive belts for water pump and alternator
- Flush the cooling system
- Check the rear wheel bearings and replace the grease
- Replace brake fluid
- Replace automatic transmission fluid and filter
- Change transmission oil
Every 80,000 km or after 40 months
- Check the fuel vapor collection system and replace the carbon filter
- Check/adjust ignition timing
- Check/replace crankcase ventilation valve
- Replace the oxygen sensor
Every 100,000 km or after 48 months
- Replace the timing belt
- Replace the air intake tube and turbocharger oil hoses
