Checking the tachometer (Mitsubishi Colt 5)

1. Connect the tachometer to the crankshaft speed sensor connector (Figure 15.3). A calibrated fluxmeter type tachometer is recommended for checking the tachometer.



2. Compare the tachometer test values for each speed range. The deviations should not exceed the permissible limits. Nominal value:

• 700 rpm: ±100 rpm
• 3000 rpm: ±150 rpm
• 5000 rpm: ±250 rpm
• 6000 rpm: ±300 rpm
