2. The supercharger turbine is driven by the exhaust gas flow and is connected by a shaft to the compressor wheel (impeller), which is designed to increase the pressure of the air flow at the inlet (see illustration). The amount of high-pressure air supplied to the engine is controlled by the exhaust gas bypass valve.
