The article is reprinted from this source (MITSUBISHIMAN.ru)

4. Label and disconnect the hose from the vacuum regulator.

5. Disconnect the connector from the distributor.

6. Mark the position of the runner relative to the distributor.

7. Unscrew the nut and remove the distributor. Pay attention to the direction of rotation of the runner when removing the distributor, mark the position of the runner on the removed distributor.

8. Remove the seal from the distributor tail.

Installation

Attention! The crankshaft did not turn with the distributor removed.

1. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Replace the seal. When installing, set the runner to the position indicated after removing the distributor, carefully insert the distributor into the cylinder block, slightly turn the shaft, engaging the drive gears, and pressing, put the distributor in place, aligning the marks on the cylinder block and the distributor housing.

Attention! The crankshaft was turned with the distributor removed

2. Set the piston of the 1st cylinder to TDC of the compression stroke. To do this, turn the crankshaft clockwise until the mark on the pulley or damper aligns with the lug on the cylinder block. Remove the valve cover and check the valve springs of the 1st cylinder. If both springs or at least one are compressed, then turn the crankshaft 1 revolution. If the rocker arms swing, then the piston of the 1st cylinder is at TDC of the compression stroke.

3. Turn the distributor shaft so that the marks on the gear and distributor tail coincide (marks: 1 – on the gear, 2 – on the distributor tail).

4. Insert the distributor into the cylinder block, turn the shaft slightly to engage the drive gears, and put the distributor in place. If the runner does not align with the spark plug terminal of the 1st cylinder, then move the distributor back. turn the roller and put it back in place.

5. Align the marks on the cylinder block and distributor housing, tighten the bolt (nut) and install all removed parts.
