The plugs are changed during a major engine overhaul. in case of leakage, their expulsion from the sockets or severe corrosion.

To replace the plugs, you need to remove the engine.

Replacement




1. To remove the plug, drill a 12.5mm diameter hole for large plugs or 6.3mm diameter hole for small plugs. Screw the handle into the hole and remove the plug.

Small plugs can be knocked out, pried up and removed.

2. Clean the hole and press in new plugs. Expansion type plugs are pressed in with the flange facing inward.
