Attention! The clutch cover is balanced together with the pressure plate. These details change in pairs.
Flywheel and drive disc
1. Flywheel; 2. Adapter flange A (on vehicles with automatic transmission); 3. Leading drive; 4. Adapter flange B; 5. Oil seal
Removal and installation
1. Remove transmission and clutch.
2. On vehicles with a 2.0 liter engine, the torque converter has a ring gear, remove the torque converter and check the condition of the ring. On all vehicles (except vehicles with 2.0 l engine) unscrew the bolts securing the adapter flange, drive disc and bushing to the crankshaft and remove the disc.
3. On vehicles with a manual transmission, mark the position of the flywheel, unscrew the bolts in a diagonal order and remove the flywheel.
4. Replace flywheel, drive plate, or torque converter if damaged or worn.
5. Establish a flywheel, a leading disk, having combined the labels put at dismantling.
The torque converter is mounted on the transmission (not on the engine). Tighten the bolts to 133 Nm. on 4-cylinder engines or 74 Nm. on 6-cylinder engines.
Ring gear
Replace the torque converter if the ring gear is defective.
If the flywheel crown is damaged, it is recommended to replace the flywheel. Replacement of the ring gear is allowed. To do this, remove the old crown and heat the new crown to 300°C and press it onto the flywheel.
