Disassembling the transfer case housing plate
1. Unscrew the seal bolt (1).
2. Remove the bearing mount (2).
3. Remove the transfer case input gear (3).
4. Remove the oil seal (4).
5. Remove the partition (5).
6. Remove the oil seal (6).
7. Remove the transfer case housing plate (7).

Transfer case housing plate assembly
Note: When assembling, tighten the bolts to the tightening torques shown in the figure.
1. Install the transfer case housing plate (7).
2. Install the seal (6).
1) Apply special grease to the edge of the seal.
Special grease: Mitsubishi Part No. 0101011 or equivalent.
2) Install the oil seal using a socket wrench.
3. Install the partition (5).
4. Install the seal (4).
1) Apply special grease to the edge of the seal.
Special grease: Mitsubishi Part No. 0101011 or equivalent.
2) Install the oil seal using special tools MB990938 and MB990935.
5. Install the transfer case input gear (3).
6. Install the bearing mount (2).
7. Tighten the seal bolt (1).
1) Apply special lubricant to the bolt threads.
Special lubricant: ZM STUD Locking No. 4170 or similar.
Note: Do not apply grease to new bolts as they are already lubricated.
