Disassembling the overrunning clutch

1. Remove the main shaft (1).
2. Remove the bearing (2).
1) Install special tool MB990560 as shown in the figure, tighten the nut of special tool MB990560 until surface "A" contacts the bearing outer ring.
Caution: Be careful not to drop the main shaft.
2) Remove the main shaft from the bearing.

3. Remove the washer (3).
4. Remove the connecting sleeve (4).
5. Remove the spring pin (5).
6. Remove the spring ring (6).
7. Remove the shift fork (7).
8. Remove the shift rod (8).
9. Remove the oil seal (9).
10. Remove the clutch gear (10).
11. Remove the bearing (11).
1) Remove the clutch gear and bearing assembly using a press and an iron insert.

2) Install the support on the inner ring of the bearing and separate the clutch gear and bearing using a press.

12. Remove the oil seal (12).
13. Remove the coupling housing (13).
Assembly of the overrunning clutch
1. Install the coupling housing (13).
2. Install the seal (12).
Note: Use special tool MB991168 to install the oil seal.

3. Install the bearing (11).
1) Press the bearing onto the clutch gear shoulder using special tool MB990799.

Caution: Install special tool MB990890 or MB990891 to the bearing outer race.
2) Press the bearing on from the clutch housing side using special tool MB990890 or MB990891.

4. Install the clutch gear (10).
5. Press the oil seal (9) onto the tubular body using special tool MB990926 and special tool MB990938.

6. Install the shift rod (8).
7. Install the shift fork (7).
8. Install the spring ring (6).
9. Install the spring pin (5).
10. Install the connecting sleeve (4).
11. Install the washer (3).
1) Place a suitable washer in the area shown in the figure and measure distance A.

Standard value (A): 0.05-0.3 mm.
2) If the distance is outside the standard values, select a suitable washer from the table:

12. Install the bearing (2).
1) Press the bearing onto the main shaft.

13. Install the main shaft (1).
