Removal
- Remove the multifunction steering column switch with integrated headlight washer switch.
- Drain the washer fluid.
- Remove the front bumper.
- Disconnect the hoses and remove the pressure valve.
- Remove the headlight washer hoses.
- Loosen the nuts and remove the brackets and nozzles.
- Remove the screws and headlight washer reservoir.
- Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the headlight washer pump.
- In the engine compartment, remove the headlight washer relay (Fig. 17.79).

Checking the headlight washer switch
- Use an ohmmeter to check the conductivity between the connector contacts in different positions of the headlight washer switch (Fig. 17.80).

Checking the pressure valve
- Apply pressure to the inlet of the pressure valve and check the valve opening pressure (Fig. 17.81).
