Removal
- Remove the center console.
- Remove the air filter.
- Loosen the nut and remove the bolts securing the gearshift rod from the gearshift lever side. Hang the gearshift rod assembly from below on the vehicle transmission components using a wire.
- Lift the gear shift lever cover, remove the bolts and lift the lever up.
Disassembly
- Remove the gear shift lever handle, spring and reverse gear lock ring (Fig. 12.10).

- Remove rubber stop A, reverse gear lock tube and O-rings.
- Remove the bolts and the supports.
- Unscrew the stopper assembly.
- Use a screwdriver to lever off the retainer.
- Remove the bushings and O-rings from the gear shift lever.
- Remove the lower stop assembly.
- Remove the support assembly.
- Remove the dust cover.
Assembly
- Assembly is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly.
- Install the center console.
- Install the air filter.
