1. Disconnect the air hose from the air filter inlet. Start the engine and observe the damper with a mirror through the hole in the pipe. When the engine is cold, the choke should be closed to keep outside air out. When the engine warms up, the damper should lower, allowing air to pass through the opening in the intake pipe.
