Checking the tightness of the power supply system (Mitsubishi Carisma)

1. Connect the MUT-II device to the diagnostic connector.

2. Disconnect the intermediate connector of the injectors (see Fig. 8.4).

3. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position.

4. Select the required item in the "Data list" menu of the MUT-II device.

5. Turn the engine crankshaft with the starter for 2 seconds or more and visually check for fuel leaks through the connections.

Caution: If fuel leaks are present, stop the engine immediately and eliminate the source of the leak.


6. Turn the engine crankshaft with the starter and measure the fuel pressure 20 seconds after the crankshaft has finished turning.

The maximum pressure value is at least 1 MPa.

Attention! If the fuel pressure is less than 1 MPa, this means that there are leaks in the high-pressure fuel system.


7. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position.

8. Connect the intermediate connector of the injectors.

9. Disconnect the MUT-II device.
