Elements of the ignition system of 4-cylinder engines
1 - candle; 2 - spark plug tip; 3 - ignition coil; 4 - lid; 5 - ignition system malfunction sensor.
Removal
After unscrewing the screws, remove the ignition system malfunction sensor (5).
After unscrewing the screws, remove the central cover (4).
Disconnect the high-tension wires. Unscrew the screws and remove the ignition coils as a whole. Unscrew the spark plugs.
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
4-cylinder engines with GDI injection system (since 2000)
Elements of the ignition system of 4-cylinder engines
1 - candle; 2 - ground wire; 3 - afterburning coil; 4 - connectors; 5 - ignition system malfunction sensor.
Removal
Remove the engine protective cover.
Disconnect the ignition coil connectors (4). Remove the ignition coils (3) by unscrewing the screws.
Disconnect the ground wires.
Remove the spark plugs (1).
Disconnect the ignition fault sensor bus connector.
Replace the screws and remove the fault sensor (5).
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
6-cylinder engines with MPI injection system

1 - ignition coil; 2 - spark plug wires; 3 - spark plug; 4 - spark plug tip.

Removal
Remove the engine covers.
Disconnect the ignition coil connectors.
Disconnect the spark plug wires (2) from the coils.
After unscrewing the screws, remove the ignition coils (1).
Remove the spark plug caps (4).
Replace the spark plugs (3).
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
