Early models

In these vehicles, the ignition coil is built into the distributor.

Ignition coil installation location in the distributor

The resistance of the primary winding of the ignition coil is measured on engines with a fuel injection device between terminals 1 and 2. The resistance of the primary winding is 0 9±1.2 Ohm; secondary winding resistance 20±29 kOhm. In some cars, the resistance of the primary winding of ignition coil 1 is measured between contacts 3 and 2 of the connector, coil 2 between contacts 3 and 1 of the connector. Coil 1 serves cylinders 1 and 4, and coil 2 - cylinders 2 and 3.

ATTENTION: The ignition coil is designed for a specific ignition system and can only be replaced with a coil of the same design and with the same index. Be careful.

Late model years

When measuring the resistance of the primary winding of the ignition coil, measure the resistance value between terminals 1 and 12 of the ignition distributor connector.

Nominal value 0.5-0.7 Ohm.

When measuring the resistance of the secondary winding of the ignition coil, measure the resistance value between the high-voltage terminal and terminals 11 and 12 of the connector. The nominal value is 21-30 kOhm.
