Checking the thickness of the brake lining
1. Remove the brake drum.
2. Measure the thickness of the brake lining at the most worn area (pic. 14.16). Nominal value: 4.3 mm. Allowed value: 1.0 mm.

3. If the thickness of the brake lining is less than the allowable one and the linings are worn unevenly, replace the brake shoes with linings.
Attention! Brake pads are replaced on both sides at the same time, so that when braking, the car does not take away the side. If there is a significant difference between the thickness of the left and right brake linings, check the brake cylinders of the brake mechanisms.
Checking the inner diameter of the brake drum
4. Remove the brake drum.
5 Measure the inner diameter of the brake drum at two or more places (pic. 14.17). Rated value: 180 mm. Permissible value: 182 mm.

6 Brake drums and pads must be replaced if the thickness is not within tolerance or uneven wear is found on the disc.
