Connect an ohmmeter to the brake light switch wiring connector and check the switch for continuity with the contact pin in the pressed and released states (Figure 14.7). The brake light switch is OK if there is no continuity when the pin is pressed 4 mm from the edge, but there is continuity when the pin is in the released state.
