Valve Stem Guide Bushing — Check (Mitsubishi Colt 5)

1. Measure the clearance between the valve guide and the valve stem (Figure 2.24). If the measured value is greater than the permissible value, the valve guide or the valve itself (or both parts) must be replaced with new ones.



Normal value: inlet valve - 0.02-0.05 mm, outlet valve - 0.05-0.09 mm. Allowable value: inlet valve - 0.10 mm, outlet valve - 0.15 mm.
