Removal
1. Although special equipment is required to diagnose faults in the brake force regulator, it can be removed and replaced at home.
2. The pressure limiter is located under the main brake cylinder. Using a spanner that prevents rounding of the nut edges, unscrew the nuts on the pipes at the ends of the brake pipes entering the brake force regulator. Carefully pull the pipes out of the regulator, plug the ends of the pipes or put sealed polyethylene bags on them to prevent fluid loss and contaminants from entering the brake system.
3. Unscrew the mounting nut located in the center of the regulator and remove the regulator.
Installation
4. Position the brake force regulator on the bracket and install the brake pipes into the holes. Hand tighten all pipe nuts, being careful not to strip the threads. Install the mounting nut and tighten it securely.
5. Tighten the tube nuts securely, again using the open-end wrench.

6. Bleed the entire brake system as described in section 11. If the ends of the tubes were not plugged and all the fluid has leaked out of the master cylinder reservoir, bleed the master cylinder first. The procedure for bleeding the master cylinder is described in section 8.
