Disassembling the rear drive shaft (Mitsubishi Pajero 4)

1. Remove the large clamp of the dual CV joint boot "DOJ" (1).

2. Remove the small clamp of the dual CV joint boot "DOJ" (2).

3. Remove the ring clamp (3).

4. Remove the outer ring of the dual CV joint "DOJ" (4).

5. Remove the dust cover (5).

6. Remove the spring ring (6).

7. Remove the dual CV joint "DOJ" (7).

1) Apply alignment marks on the drive shaft, the inner ring of the DOJ CV joint and the DOJ CV joint housing as shown in the figure.



2) Remove the balls from the CV joint housing "DOJ".



3) Remove the DOJ CV joint housing from the DOJ CV joint inner ring in the direction shown in the figure.





8. Remove the boot of the dual CV joint "DOJ" (8).

Note: Wrap plastic tape around the splines of the DOJ CV joint on the drive shaft side to avoid damaging the boot when removing.




9. Remove the Birfeld CV joint (EBJ) (9).

10. Remove the ring clamp (10).

11. Remove the small clamp of the Birfeld CV joint boot (EBJ) (11).

12. Remove the large clamp of the Birfeld CV joint boot (EBJ) (12).

13. Remove the Birfeld CV joint boot (EBJ) (13).
