Installing the rear axle hub (Mitsubishi Pajero 4)

Note: When installing, tighten the bolts to the torques shown in the figure.


1. Install the support plate (13).

2. Install the rear hub assembly (12).

3. Install the ABS speed sensor rotor guard (11).

4. Connect the rear drive shaft assembly (10).

5. Install the steering knuckle, rear hub assembly and support plate.

6. Connect the lower suspension arm and steering knuckle joint (9).

1) Compress the coil spring using a floor jack and tighten the lower arm mounting bolt.



7. Install the parking brake shoes (8).

8. Connect the parking brake cable connection (7).

9. Install the brake disc (6).

10. Install the caliper assembly (5).

11. Tighten the axle nut (4).

Caution: The front wheel hub bearing must not be loaded with the weight of the vehicle before tightening the drive axle nut.


Note: Use a torque wrench when installing.




Tightening torque: 220±10 Nm.



12. Install the axle cover (3).

13. Install the cotter pin (2).

14. Screw on the hub cover (1).

15. Check and adjust the travel of the parking brake lever.
