24.2a Place the gland housing on wooden blocks and knock out the old gland
2. Remove the old seal from the casing, noting the depth of its installation. Clean the casing, lubricate the outer edge of the new seal with oil and install it in the casing (24.2a and 24.2b).
24.2b Install the new seal into the housing using a wooden block or a piece of pipe
3. Lubricate the inner lip of the oil seal and install it on the crankshaft and cylinder block. Use a new gasket and sealant.
4. Gradually tighten the mounting bolts.
5. Install the oil protection ring with the hole facing down.
