Ignition distributor for cars with 4G9 DOHC engines
Removal
To remove, follow these steps in sequence.

1. Loosen the screws and remove the ignition system malfunction sensor 7 (Fig. 9.36).
2. Loosen the screws and remove the central cover 5.
3. Disconnect the high-voltage wires 2.
Caution: When removing high-voltage wires, be sure to hold the wire tip, not the wire itself.
4. Loosen the screws and remove the ignition coils assembly 3.
5. Remove spark plugs 1.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Ignition distributor for cars with 4G93–GDI DOHC engines
Removal
To remove, follow these steps in sequence.
1. Remove the engine protective cover.

2. Disconnect the ignition coil connectors 6 (Fig. 9.37).
3. Loosen the screws and remove the ignition coils 5.
4. Disconnect ground wire 2.
5. Remove spark plugs 1.
6. Disconnect the ignition failure sensor bus connector 7.
7. Loosen the screws and remove the ignition failure sensor 8.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
