2. In the area of greatest wear, measure the thickness of the brake shoe lining (Fig. 15.28).

Nominal thickness: 4.38 mm Minimum thickness: 1.0 mm
If the lining thickness is less than the minimum or uneven wear is observed, replace the brake pads. When replacing the brake pads, they must be replaced on both the left and right sides of the vehicle to prevent uneven braking of the right and left wheels. If there is a significant difference in the degree of wear (thickness) of the brake pad linings on the left and right wheels, check the operation of the piston of the working brake cylinder.
