2. Turn the crankshaft clockwise and set the piston of the 1st cylinder to TDC on the compression stroke, while the mark on the camshaft pulley should align with the pointer (fig 3.16).

Warning. Since the purpose of this operation is to ensure the required tension of the timing belt due to the forces created by the camshaft cams, the rotation of the crankshaft in the opposite direction is not allowed.
3. Remove the service cover.
4. Loosen the timing belt tensioner bolt and allow the tensioner spring to tension the belt.
Warnings.
Loosen the bolt by 90-180°.
If the bolt is further loosened, it may fall inside the cover.
5. Tighten the bolt securing the timing belt tensioning mechanism of the gas distribution mechanism.
6. Install the service cover.
7. Establish the top casing of a gear belt.
