General information

The four-cylinder diesel engine with direct fuel injection and high-pressure fuel rail is mounted transversely at the front of the vehicle. The cylinder block is made of cast iron, and the cylinder head is made of aluminum alloy. The timing mechanism is driven by a toothed belt from the crankshaft pulley.

The engine uses a cylinder block made of cast iron with cylinder liners machined directly into the cylinder block material.

As spare parts, the cylinder block is supplied with main bearing caps.

Marking and installation direction of main bearing caps: numbering from 2 to 5 (No. 2 on the flywheel side), and the marking should be read from the side opposite the location of the oil dipstick guide tube. Bearing support No.1 on the flywheel side has no marking.

The turbocharger is mounted under the exhaust manifold and is controlled by vacuum through a single solenoid valve controlled by the engine control unit.

The intercooler is installed at the front of the vehicle between the radiator of the cooling system and the condenser of the air conditioning system.

The high-pressure fuel distribution line is designed to store the fuel required for engine operation, reduce fuel pulsations and connect high-pressure elements. The steel, forged fuel distribution line is fixed to the cylinder head. The line contains a pressure sensor, a connection of the fuel return line with the fuel temperature sensor and a pressure regulator.

The engine with direct fuel injection and the Common Rail fuel distribution line is controlled by an electronic control unit.

The engine is removed upward from the engine compartment.
