Removal

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
On DOHC (GDI) engine, remove the lower front timing belt cover.
On DOHC engines (4G93-GDI) and SOHC (4G13-MPI) remove the front timing belt cover.
Disconnect the connector from the crankshaft angle sensor (Fig. 9.13, 9.14, 9.15).

On DOHC (GDI) and SOHC engines (4G13-MPI) unscrew the bolt securing the crankshaft angle sensor wire clamp.
On DOHC engine (4G93 GDI) unscrew the bolts, remove the bracket and the crankshaft angle sensor.
On other engines, remove the bolts and crankshaft angle sensor.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
Screw in the sensor mounting bolts and tighten them to a torque of 9 Nm.
Screw in the sensor bracket mounting bolts and tighten them to a torque of 9.8 Nm.
