Removal


  • Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
  • On DOHC (GDI) engine, remove the lower front timing belt cover.
  • On DOHC engines (4G93-GDI) and SOHC (4G13-MPI) remove the front timing belt cover.
  • Disconnect the connector from the crankshaft angle sensor (Fig. 9.13, 9.14, 9.15).

  • On DOHC (GDI) and SOHC engines (4G13-MPI) unscrew the bolt securing the crankshaft angle sensor wire clamp.
  • On DOHC engine (4G93 GDI) unscrew the bolts, remove the bracket and the crankshaft angle sensor.
  • On other engines, remove the bolts and crankshaft angle sensor.

Installation


  • Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
  • Screw in the sensor mounting bolts and tighten them to a torque of 9 Nm.
  • Screw in the sensor bracket mounting bolts and tighten them to a torque of 9.8 Nm.
