Door trim panel — removal and installation (Mitsubishi Colt 2)

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.



11.2a On some models, the screw that secures the door handle can be loosened by pulling the handle towards you


2. Loosen the trim panel mounting screws and remove the handles (11.2a and 11.2b).



11.2b The door trim panel mounting screws are often covered by covers that can be removed with a screwdriver




11.3b On other models, remove the clamp using a screwdriver






11.3a On some models, use a rag to loosen the handle clip




11. Зв Put the clamp back in place and install the handle on the axle


3. Remove the window lift handle (11.3a, 11.3b and 11.3v) or remove and disconnect the window lift switch.

4. Insert a wide-bladed knife or thin crowbar between the trim panel and the door and release all fastening latches.

5. Then unscrew the locking knob, remove the trim panel and disconnect all the wires.



11.6 Be careful when removing the plastic film - do not tear it




6. To gain access to the inside of the door, peel back the protective film, being careful not to tear it (11.6).

7. Before installing the trim panel, reinstall all mounting clips.

8. Connect all the wires and install the panel on the door. Tighten the mounting screws and install the handles.
