Removal



1. Remove the fuel filler cap. Remove the air cleaner. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle lever. On automatic transmission models, disconnect the downshift cable.

2. Label all vacuum hoses and connections and disconnect the hoses.

3. Disconnect the fuel supply line from the carburetor. Label all wires and terminals and disconnect all connection connectors.

4. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the carburetor from the intake manifold. Remove the gasket. Plug the manifold opening with a rag.

Installation



5. Remove any traces of the old gasket from the carburetor and intake manifold and clean the mating surfaces with acetone or solvent.

6. Install a new gasket and install the carburetor onto the manifold. Install the mounting bolts.

7. Gradually tighten the bolts in a diagonal pattern, tightening them 1/4 turn at a time.

8. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
