Necessary tools and equipment (Mitsubishi Colt 4)

It is known that it is impossible to provide maintenance of your car without the appropriate tools and equipment. Therefore, we advise you to get a set of the necessary tools that you will need to repair your car.

In addition to the usual set of screwdrivers and pliers, you will need to purchase the following tools:

metric spanners, sockets and combination wrenches with closed and open ends from 3 to 19 mm, as well as a spark plug wrench;
jacks;
chassis grease gun;
hydrometer for checking battery;
oil drain container;
rag for removing dirt.

The basic list of adjustment equipment may include:

tachometer;
spark plug wrench;
a lamp (strobe) to check the ignition timing (it is best to buy a constant current lamp that can be connected to the car battery);
device/tool for adjusting spark plugs.

In addition, there are a number of other tools and devices that may be needed when repairing a car. These include:

compression measuring device;
vacuum gauge;
control lamp;
induction meter (used to check for current in a wire. A very useful device if you need to determine the integrity of the wiring).

In each case where a specific torque is required to be applied to a fastener, it will be indicated in the appropriate place. If such data is not available, it is recommended to apply the following torques in accordance with the dimensions of the fasteners.

8mm bolt nut: 16-23 Nm
10mm bolt/nut: 31-46Nm
12mm bolt/nut 56-80Nm
14mm bolt/nut 76-103Nm
