1. The hydraulic system should be bled until all air is removed if any part of the system has been removed or if the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder reservoir has dropped so much that air has entered the master cylinder. The procedure is similar to bleeding the brake system.

2. Fill the clutch master cylinder reservoir with clean brake fluid meeting DOT 3 specification.

Caution: Do not reuse fluid that has leaked from the system during bleeding or fluid that has been in an open container for an extended period of time.

3. Remove the boot from the air release valve and place a piece of plastic hose on the valve. Place the other end of the hose in a clean container filled with brake fluid to about 5 cm. The end of the hose should be at the bottom of the container.

4. Have an assistant press and hold the clutch pedal. Open the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder, releasing fluid from the hose. Close the bleeder valve when fluid stops flowing. Once the valve is closed, the assistant can release the pedal.

5. Continue this process until no more air comes out of the system and the flow becomes strong and continuous without air bubbles. Carefully monitor the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder reservoir; if the liquid level drops significantly, air may enter the system and the process will have to be started again.

6. Replace the dust cover and lower the vehicle. Check the system before operating the vehicle.
