Applying sealant to the plane of the pallet of 4-cylinder engines
1. Sealant; 2. Groove; 3. bolt hole
Attention! To perform this procedure, you will need to hang out the engine, which requires a lift. Supporting the engine from below is prohibited. When hanging the engine, disconnect all wires and hoses, guided by the description of dismantling the engine.
On a 24-valve 3.0 l engine and a 3.5 l engine, the sump is 2-section. The bottom part is made of aluminum alloy. The upper section bolts go into the transmission case.
Removing
1. Disconnect the battery from the ground. Drain the oil and tighten the plug.
2. Turn away bolts of the pallet, having paid attention to their arrangement.
3. Remove the pan by opening the seal with a special drift MB998727 and tapping on the corners with a rubber mallet. On a small part of the vehicles, the pallet is installed on a gasket.
4. Remove the oil receiver. Clean the split planes of the sump, flush the oil receiver.
Installation
1. Install the drip tray in reverse order.
2. Replace the oil receiver gasket and tighten the bolt to 18 Nm.
